Three Sepak Takraw Balls, hockey sticks, four scooters, Two plastic sleds, two yogaballs

Per Team-At least:

6 Naked Suits, 4 animal/monster costumes, 2 bird costumes, 2 Flying Fish costumes, 2 knight costumes, 2 Sledder costumes

Time:

3 periods, 20 min per period

 

Game Summary:

Bosch on Ice is an experimental sport based on the painting, The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch. It takes quite an effort to put it on but its well worth the stares from passersby at whatever ice rink you decide to organize it at.  In general, we highly recommend transforming paintings, especially Medieval paintings, into contact sports. 

 

 

Rules:

Bosch on Ice  is similar to Ice Hockey with a few exceptions. 

1. There are no goalies
2. There are seven players per team on the ice at all times
3. There are three balls instead of a puck
4. Position players have different abilities

 

Players and abilities

Position	Abilities
Human	Can use hockey stick. May not score with hands or feet
Animal/Monster	Does not have stick. Can score with hands or feet. Cannot move with ball
Bird	Does not have stick. Can score with feet, not with hands. Can run with the ball for 5 seconds
Flying Fish	Does not have stick. On a scooter. Can score with hands or feet
Knight	Can use hockey stick. Can score with hands or feet. Can only score when on top of a flying fish
Sledder	Does not have stick. On a sled. Must be pulled around. Score counts as two points
Ballmen	Work in teams of two. Do not have sticks. Can score with feet. Both players must be touching physioball with hands when attempting a shot. Players can throw physioball at other players for defensive strategy

Scoring

When a goal is scored the ball is returned to center ice and a face off is organized by the referee while play continues with the other two balls

 

 

Costume Guide

 

Human                 Humans need to be wearing naked suits. This

                               can be achieved by buying white t shirts and 

                              pants and dyeing them to whatever skin tone is

                              desired. Or they can play naked. 

 

Animal/Monster       There are many ways to make animals or

                                     monsters, they just need to be colorful and 

                                     not human

 

Bird                              Birds must have some sort of beak or

                                     probiscus

 

Flying Fish                 Flying fish must have coattail fins 

 

Knight                        Knights must wear armor of some kind and

                                    have a helmet

 

Sledder                      Must have a plastic sled

 

Ballmen                    Usually wear naked suits as well, and hold a

                                    physioball
